our girl is now 6 months old!
The past 6 months, have been the best 6 months of my life. I love my daughter more than I ever, ever thought possible. We had a little photo-shoot to celebrate her 6 months of existence– bright and early on saturday morning. (why early? it’s august in the south and no one wants to see us glimmer-with-sweat, so early in the morning, when it’s about 10 degrees cooler, ’twas).
In the past, when getting professional photos taken, I would have bought new outfits weeks in advance, I would have the accessories perfectly picked out, + I would have had a slight freak-out the night before–debating on whether or not everything was going to look juuust right. Not this time.
I literally threw together our outfits the night before, didn’t even bother to curl my hair, and did not freak out about, anything. I think the difference was…….. motherhood.
Number one, I haven’t had time to make how we look my top-priority- and number two, well, having a baby just changes your priorities in general, and your perspective on what really matters.
Or, at least it has for me.
We may not be wearing the most perfect/complimentary color combination, but to me, these pictures ARE perfect.
If I had any advice, it would be: don’t lose sight of what really matters when planning your baby’s 6 months old photos. They will turn out beautifully, and will reflect what is most important, your beautiful baby and the family you were blessed with.
For these photos, I grabbed a vintage mirror that I bought at a thrift store years ago. I also grabbed the quilt (literally) off of our bed, and I even pulled out these darling blocks that we used at my baby shower.
My favorite thing we used, however, was my mother’s rocking chair that she had when she was a little girl! I love the sentimental value that is now forever in these photos.
and, of course, some behind the scene photos for your enjoyment…
Be sure to pin this post to save for later!
Now…the hard part. Deciding WHICH one of these to print into a canvas.
